Nearly two decades of CD4-targeted innovation

TaiMed Biologics is a commercial-stage CD4-targeted biologics company advancing antibody-based therapies for HIV and other areas of unmet need. Founded in Taiwan in 2007, TaiMed has built its scientific identity around a differentiated understanding of CD4 biology - from the development and commercialization of Trogarzo® to the advancement of next-generation long-acting and preclinical CD4-directed programs.

Who We Are

TaiMed combines scientific depth in HIV biology with clinical development, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercialization experience. Our lead program, TMB-365/380, is being developed as a differentiated long-acting HIV maintenance therapy, while our broader CD4 platform is being explored across additional combinations and early-stage immune-directed applications.

Our mission is to advance antibody-based therapies that expand the possibilities of long-term HIV care while applying validated CD4-targeted science to new areas of unmet medical need.

Two decades of CD4 expertise

TaiMed's scientific roots trace to pioneering HIV research led by Dr. David Ho and collaborators at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center. That work helped establish the CD4-targeting approach that became ibalizumab and, ultimately, Trogarzo. Over time, TaiMed has continued to engineer and extend that biology through TMB-365, the TMB-365/380 dual-antibody regimen, and preclinical CD4-targeted delivery strategies.

Building on the Trogarzo foundation

FDA approval of Trogarzo in 2018 marked a defining milestone for TaiMed and for antibody-based HIV treatment. Trogarzo established clinical and regulatory precedent for CD4-targeted therapy and demonstrated TaiMed's ability to advance a novel biologic from development through commercialization. That foundation now informs the company's next generation of programs.

Where TaiMed is going

TaiMed's near-term focus is the continued clinical development of TMB-365/380 and the broader potential of TMB-365 as a long-acting combination component. Over the longer term, TaiMed is exploring how the same CD4-targeting expertise may support targeted payload delivery in HIV cure research and other immune-directed applications, including autoimmune disease. These programs remain early, but they illustrate the broader scientific relevance of the platform.

Our Founders

David Ho, M.D. | Scientific Founder / Chief Scientific Advisor

Dr. David Ho is an internationally recognized HIV researcher whose work helped establish combination antiretroviral therapy and transform HIV into a manageable chronic disease. As TaiMed's scientific founder, Dr. Ho helped shape the CD4 antibody platform that underlies Trogarzo, TMB-365, and the company's next-generation research programs.

LanBo Chen, Ph.D.

Dr. LanBo Chen is an Academician of Academia Sinica and Professor of Pathology Emeritus at Harvard Medical School. His scientific leadership contributed to TaiMed's founding and early development.

Ing-Wen Tsai, Ph.D.

Dr. Ing-Wen Tsai served as TaiMed's first chairperson and later as the 14th and 15th President of the Republic of China (Taiwan). She holds a Ph.D. in law from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
