CD4 is the foundation
TaiMed has spent nearly two decades developing, validating, and extending a CD4-targeted antibody approach. The CD4 receptor is central to HIV entry, making it a distinct host-cell target for therapeutic intervention. That biology connects TaiMed's commercial product, lead clinical program, and next-generation research.
Why CD4?
HIV uses the CD4 receptor on helper T cells as a primary point of entry into the host cell. Many antiretroviral therapies act directly on viral proteins. TaiMed's CD4-targeted antibodies intervene at the host-cell level, creating a mechanism that is not exposed to the same viral mutational dynamics as therapies directed only at the virus.
